Unique enough, but not my favourite. It's truly a work of art as Olivier Polge always does! This is a playful grapefruit fragrance that echoes chanel but is probably something i would give a child. Solid like. It's just like Dior's John Galliano to Raf Simons. Or maybe only spray on clothes? This is a very pleasant scent. It stays well and projects great I already received compliments. Very well-blended. Chance Eau Vive by Chanel is a Floral Woody Musk fragrance for women. I have bought so many different ones or tried them and they have all failed me. The drydown is nice but nothing you haven't seen before. Eau vive does remind me of coco mademoiselle, but a much fresher version. Very easy to wear. First spray I was in love, but something turned on me as I continued shopping. The drydown with its vetiver and cedar reminds me of Estee Lauder Pleasures, evoking a similar feel of a rainwashed summer garden. Eau Vive opens with lots of citrus notes, fresh and zesty, with something sweet and floral underneath. Sorry Eau Fraiche you have been dethroned by Eau Vive..lol. Jacques Polge retired, and his son, Olivier Polge, now takes charge. This is a fabulous tonic for cold, crisp weather! I decided to try this in the cold as eau fraiche changes in the seasons with my body chemistry and this smells even better in the cold..it's gotten sweeter, the citrus is more present and the iris, jasmine, cedar and musk amp upthis is so good..I think I prefer to wear Eau Vive during the winter more than the summer and Eau Fraiche during the summer as that smells better on me during that season versus the winter. Its just me, because Eau Tendre smells amazing like as described ingredients on my friends. Blood orange note is too much for me here. It opens as a sharp, tangy citrus Jasmine fog. I haven't been a fan of other Chances in the past .. On my skin I loved the zesty top note like others say, but the base is totally masculine, this is like after only 15 mnts !

Layered they are also beautiful. Eau vive is a fresh citrus scent with Jasmine undertones. Still, what happens after the big citrusy burst, is quite interesting. Wow, what a beautiful addition to the Chance line! This works so well on a hot day, especially if I'm not into smelling sweet that day.

Much love Monsieur Polge ~ your place in history will last forever. thats my opinion any way. I am afraid of discontinuance. I think it's possibly one of the least raved about Chanel releases for a long time. Perfumes: 73,874 Eau Frache is a bit woodier and Eau Vive has a distinct blood orange note. I will probably give it a try again someday because I want to test it on my skin. It smells like some sulfuric pineapple and Dihydromyrcenol nuance(herbal and limey, like a skin toner for men) and a bit of powdery and musky with animal, fatty smell(maybe is this Blood orange?). Thanks Chanel & Olivier for another delightful fragrance to make memories by. It takes time to show itself. I thought I would love the citrus mix of grapefruit and lemon but I find this one to be over the top with the citrus and is becomes almost too sweet. I can smell a LOT of grapefruit and some lovely flowers. It is very citrus and musk, but the grapefruit really stands out and is bitter to me. Third; a classic drydown of white musk/cedar/iris giving the scent elegance and grace. Wow, Chanelthey put Eau Vive in the Chance line, what, I think it's the fifth one or so, they gave it a pale pink color, and made it out to be an easy, bright citrus perfumeso of course I ignored it until very recently. Longevity and projection as expected for an EDT. Eau Vive is the perfect mediator! Great summer scent. If you're yearning for sunny spring days and breezy summer evenings, then this might cheer you up! Powdery, floral, musky & simply irresistible. I had CHANCE original for years before in my 30's, it was a fresh crispy fragrance that gets quite heavy but I loved it, I felt classy wearing it. Chanel - Chance Eau Vive Eau De Toil (138.00 USD), Buy it online BIG SALE on or Many items for sale on, Perfume rating3.78out of5 with3,170 votes. I just purchase a second larger bottle bottle as a backup. 7/10. Either way, I'm not sure I want to hold onto this quite full bottle. It's bright, fresh, sparkling and just gorgeous! Simply amazing! I have tried the wrong Chance perfume at the store, I wanted to test Eau Tendre to compare it with Marc Jacobs Daisy, but I end up picking Eau Vive instead. On the wrist they last for 12 - 14 hours, overall reach twenty. Got this as a free sample from a Chanel order.

Nothing super unique but very likable and inoffensive. If you have this smell you have a happy feeling. I just LOVE this perfume!! This is citrus-y, fresh, and feminine. Why not just give it a new name?

The reason? Un acqua VIVA, moltomeno viva di quel che credevo! It smells Crisp & Fresh with a beautiful floral. Recently, however, I started testing eau Vive. I don't know why this doesn't get more love out of the line (especially over eau frache). Hanae Mori's No 3 is in the same category. Sophisticated woody citrus, wetness doesn't live here, there's no hesperidic effervescence or water dynamism to my nose. It lasted through the stifling hot day, and the sillage was incredible. 2 years later, I'm finally halfway through my 100ml bottle and my hearts breaking a little. It lasted very long for me 6-8 hours.. Eau Vive does not smell special in any way. @Miguel Harris, I agree!

I believe that much of the dislike for this perfume is because many people feel strongly that Chanel can do better (and I do agree). Chanel Chance eau Vive is truely one of the weirdest fragrances I've ever come across and I will try to explain why. It opens with a blast of blood orange, and grapefruit, then turns into a fizzy orange smell for a while. I really like it. So strange how perfumes change like that. Zesty and bright, not very strong. It's also so clean cut that I can't get sick of it. I really am enjoying Eau Vive more and more. You just have to give it the right chance. Seeing the long Dislike bar I thought this must be really bad smelling and I lost any will to test it. I tried Eau Vive yesterday and while I didn't have any expectations I must say that I expected more from Chanel in general. For a Chanel?BOWLING? As a girl who loves Chanel fragrances--for years--I was a little skeptical about Chance Eau Vive. The zesty citrus opening is sadly gone in a flash, but the heart and bottom are good too if exceedingly short-lived. I foresee women who work in corporate settings wearing this to the office because it's so lovely and refined, and would turn heads. I dont think of it as smelling like citrus, but maybe thats what others are describing. Had to wash this off sadly. The woods decided to walk to the front. I love the original Chance but somehow only smell pineapples And it becomes a bit overwhelming at times. This opens with a strong citrus, a tiny bit masculine. This starts out as a bright citrus, but becomes a jasmine scent. The effect was akin to Benjamin Button: smells like a grandmother, then an auntie, then a sweet young lady. Could easily be someones signature fragrance. So Happy I invested in this one. I also get grapefruit in the opening. I recommend testing. The Chanel EDTs are not worth their money anymore, and it's a shame if the EDPs are too much for your skin. chance toilette makeupalley cn hng In the words of Coco Chanel herself, "In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different." Yay!! Then, it started to dry down. Olivier has stepped into his father's very large shoes and created this fresh & zesty scent. How can a perfume this nice be this underrated?? Fresh, crisp, sparklygreat for warm weather, or as a signature scent for everyday wear. I'm not a huge fan of Chance, but I don't dislike it - I find it appealing, yet for me, somewhat too similar with Coco Mad to justify also owning. It's quite subtle but I'm sure it would be a beautiful day time fragrance to own. I don't get particular notes in the first hour other than a slightly aquatic floral similar to the style of Creed's Spring Flower. Imagine you peeled some citrus fruit and that burst of freshness hits you. 2 years ago I got this as a birthday gift. by Elena Vosnaki, John Biebel, Stefanie Jhn, Rouu Abd El-Latif, Bella van der Weerd. Very disappointed. Online right now: 2,765, Fragrantica in your language: (I didn't really like Chance Eau Tendre when I tried it in the past - too young and cakey sweet for me.) I need this in my life it's so good. It does project in an indoor atmosphere gathering. Eau Vive, unfortunately, is just flat. So sad. I sampled this in the store, did two sprays. I must say I was extremely disappointed. 10 mins later, Chanel Chance the originalNothing more, nothing less. Very boring. It's non-offensive and office friendly. The overall effect is of a musky soap bar with bitter citrus notes hovering over it. It's not terrific for lasting - I'd say I get maybe 6 hours before it's a skin scent. The scent is made of quality ingredients however in the end I respected the sent but didn't like it. It a great fresh, soapy grapefruit fragrance. I like to overspray this so that the dry down can shine later in the day. But it didn't capture my imagination and make me feel great the way your special or favourite perfumes do. The citrus notes are not the least refreshing on me, so I wouldn't say this is a prticularly summery fragrance. A good compliment getter that really shines in the winter. It was a gift and I put it in the back of the closet feeling it was too strong for me. It's a pleasant airy perfume, best in the Chance line. It's never artificial or cloying on my skin, as it wraps me in this silky bright scent. Somethings are just funny: my first passion in this line was the Eau Fraiche. I can smell almost nothing else. Smells like all the chances put together but much lighter. The perfect smell for the classy feminine women. Two sprays and everyone in your vicinity will be able to smell you. However, the base let me down. There is this juicy, bright burst of grapefruit. it's pretty and bright while it lasts but then even sticking my nose against my skin I get nothing. This is my MOST FAVOURITE and MOST COMPLIMENTED fragrance ever!! It appears they smooth it out in this new one. The first time it was just horribly soapy on me, not much else. Fresh, feminine, clean, a little woodsy but not too much, slightly powdery - just enough, and delicious enough to wear anywhere. So to those who hates Patch notes in their fragrances.

Its sweet and fresh with an edge to it. Chanel has some fabulous marketing and some really nice perfumes. Ohhhh Me and Chanel .Totally in love :) X. Ok so earlier I reviewed this, and at the time I figured it was a scent that was nice, but one that was so-so & I'd never buy the bottleI was wrong. Something, that could easily become my everyday scent. chance chanel eau spray twist toilette myer tendre Good for a casual weekend, after the gym, to go for coffee or to the office. I love the cedar and iris in the base and how clean and classy and refreshing it feels. Ooh. The warm weather really brought out the beauty in this juice! I must say though that it is zesty and orangey, something that will wake you up but it is not compelling enough to make me puchase it. They always tend to develop a "sharp" quality that is screechy to my nose. Fresh, flirty and fun. Maybe if this was on sale I would buy it. This is the only one I haven't finished. Chance Eau Vive managed to sneak into the Chance range without much of a fuss. The citrus is so realistic too. I am not understanding the dislikes for eau vive , I find it fresh and pleasant and so appropriate for many occasions. It's almost like a very fresh rose, a young blossom. This one is very bad - so chemical it gives me a headache even though I can barely smell it after 15 minutes, it burns my olfactory epithelium, I'm aware I have something chemical and irritating on me for a couple of hours though. Very classy, fresh, sophisticated frag for warmer weather. Was at the Chanel store an hour ago to sniff the latest flanker. My favorite perfume of 2015, my new favorite 'Chance' along 'Eau Fraiche'(Green)! The smell is strong, like an auntie with bright lipstick who grips you for a hug. Dries down sweet, but not overly so. I don't like iris, but in this scent it doesn't bother me a bit.

Once my sample is done, I am going to purchase a full bottle to wear during the Summer. When I first sprayed this, I thought this was a factice (fake bottle). First of all -no pathouli (!) I'll try it again, but it looks like my brothers girlfriend, who loves anything from Chanel, has a 1.7 oz bottle coming to her. The grapefruit and blood orange decides they're tired and don't want to play in the sandbox anymore, so they walk home, and very quickly might I add. This is quite nice on my skin and probably the only one I like in the Chance line. This has citruses ( I love that blood orange), iris, vetiver and no vanilla, no patchouli. Performance is almost overwhelming, Chanel did not disappoint me at that. It's so nice! Classy, but approachable. The Eau Vive for me is at once simplistic and yet challenging. When comparing this with the original Chance edp it has all of the citrus of chance so the DNA is there. Top notes are very very citrusy. Initially, I hated it and had boxed it back up to return it to the store.

All in all it's Elegant to wear in the Spring/Summer like for a Wedding. this is disappointing for me, i like all the chance line with eau fraiche being my favourite but this, well I'm kind of on the fence. It's long lasting with decent projection. The orange, very citrusy opening is soft and alluring rather than sharp and the soft musk dry down is reminiscent of the original Chance. Unfortunately I get a lot of vetiver which makes it a bit masculine on me but I'm trying to forget about it and enjoy it as a whole :). Reformulations and a new perfumer aside, I like this perfume, but it is definitely not one of Chanel's best. Its bright, sexy and just my type of scent. But though it opens with a citrus blast, this citrus fades quite fast. Perfect for gifting. A nightmare! Love! This time a get a very fresh and strong grapefruit with a bit of soapiness, but now it goes well together. I can't really grasp what happened over the years except that my nove changed and now I smell them all differently, which is a real possibility. Initially it is like big blast of generic citrus. I imagine a woman in her 30s wearing this. In theory, I like Eau Fraiche but find it too "astringent" for me. Umema: The Perfume That'll Never Be Smelled. Pleasant. My favourite of all the Chance range. The zesty citrus notes are gorgeous and the dry down brings about another dimension with the jasmine and musk. The opening is soft citrusy. It reminds me of Coco Mademoiselle with a hint of the original Chance. why are they watering down their fragrances and putting up the prices? 4 hours in and the original mandarin bomb has waned, and now it's almost reminiscent of orange bitters for cocktails. Overall I like it. I bought this because it smelled so beautiful on the girl at the register. This started off AWESOME. I would call this Chance Summer. The grapefruit does have some sourness and it does smell like sweat a little, but the good kind of salty sweat like youre laying on the beach in the hot sun. It sits on my skin and did not develop. I'd buy a full size. I know Tendre and Fraiche don't have much personality, and aren't perfume masterpieces, but they're refreshing and lively. Not good enough, Chanel !!!!! Definitely still suitable for a young lady in her 20s (or even younger), but it doesn't just feel like youth and life and brightness as "eau vive" might imply. And having the name Chanel and price point youd expect more . My sisters came to visit me and on both of them that bottle that was so boring on me developed into an absolutely beautifully scent on them. Perfect for the first day of spring. If I had to relate this scent using more fragrances as a reference, I'd say this is Clinique's Happy + Chanel DNA + a little warmth from resins. I obtained a sample a Sephora a few months ago, when the weather was still cold. On me, it smells like a soft spicy citrus..hope they come out with other products in it for layering. Chance Eau Vive, for me, is a big fat watery fail I'm afraid. It is just so delicious, classy, sweet but not too much, fresh, feminine and it lasts. I absolutely love the opening to this with the blood orange // grapefruit but after that its just nothing . I tried it at a mall and found it too meh so I didnt plan to buy it because I said to myself I could get better value with another perfume. I felt some of the blood orange peeking in. It love how it dries down, very soft sweet citrus and floral. It smells like very sweet Orange juice with sugar. The blood orange is divine and it wears beautifully on me, of all the chances vive is for me. This is nothing but a simple citrusy/white floral/musky scent. I'm not a big fan of citrus, though I can appreciate a good one (Chance eau fraiche). They blend together and it's like they are very lightley sparkeled with some citrus. Right then and there I knew I couldnt return it. Maybe even better than the lemony Chance Eau Fraiche (the original Chance is my favorite so far). Something floral lingers in the background, but the citrus is covering everything. I dont mind citrusy perfume, even one of my most loved fragrance - Flora by gucci edp (currently wearing :), which is realy very citrusy, but i just dont get Eau Vive - it smells like man's colone, a harsh, sharp mans colone. The opening with the combination of citrus is like pure Lemon, then the florals kick in and the musk is a beautiful one. Its a shame to me the opening is what makes this unique but it goes to a skin scent and doesnt last at all . It starts with a gorgeous blast of blood orange that quickly dries to bitter citrus zest, musk, vetiver and jasmine. It's also very, very elegant, with that unmistakable Chanel vibe. I miss the days when I could just buy a Guerlain or a Chanel and know it would both last and smell great. I even looked on the bottle is it really pour femme. Like all Chanel perfumes it develops. Chance Eau Vive is not all about the grapefruit and blood orange, no no, it's so much more than that. The bottles have to be my favorite, such a clean and beautiful design. Grapefruit, which I generally don't like to wear, and jasmine, layered with powdery, metallic iris, are a very unpleasant combo for me. I can't believe there's so many bad reviews and dislikes. Eau Vive on the other hand is, while undoubtedly part of the Chance family,as clear and translucent as if something created by Issey Miyake. It's a big NO. Chanel scents are rich & soft at the same time and utterly feminine and Chance Eau Vive does not disappoint. Only a brief feeling of freshness. Bonne chance Olivier as the new nose of Chanel. It is certain that it smells expensive, pleasant and you do not need to carry a bottle, because durability is phenomenal. I'm used to him smelling my neck/wrist and saying "mmmm it's nice - don't you have something else that smells like this though?". The drydown is a soft sweet musk/white floral mix on a soapy cedar base and a bit of grapefruit on top. You can't go wrong with a bit of Chanel can you?
