I chuckle all the time at the nikon fans. i was at my local wallmart this afternoon and i took a look at two scopes one was the nikon prostaff 4-12x40 with bdc and the other was a leupold rifleman 4-12x40 the nikon was $199 and the leupold was $230. We chose Continental Fence on the recommendation of a colleague and it was an excellent decision. As I mentiond before, opticsplanet is a great place to buy and it seems they will be easier to deal with than Bushnell and quite honestly, I dont want to play the mail order game and get another lemon that got past QC.

only problem i have with it is the small circles are difficult to use in low light altho the scope is very bright for its class . I simply can't understand why someone would pay 2x or 3x as much for marginally better products (if really better at all). If you need traditional wood privacy fences or more secure chain-link fences, weve got you covered.

I prefer a 32mm scope on my Marlin 336's because the smaller objective allows me to mount them low to the receiver. Best bang for the buck IMHO.

I purchased the NIKON 4-12X40 rifle scope and it is a high quality extremely accurate optics. I've got two 4-12 Prostaffs. We use only high-quality wood that would last a lifetime. Anybody have any experience with Pentax? During bore sighting at 40 yards with a laser, the turrets tracked well and was able to acquire crosshairs to laser very easily. its the recticles themselves that are my issue. for 300 you could get a Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40 AO made in philippines. I do like the reticle options better. One on a .243 and the other on an AR. I recently bought a 4.5-14 Mueller and it's very nice.

First, these are both very good scopes..you really can't make mistake here. They are both good scopes. If there's a high enough number for them that major retailers have pages dedicated to refurbished models for sale it tells me that the failure rate is higher than I care to gamble with. The low mount is the greatest feature of a 32mm objective. Can I back that up with quality statistics?

I swapped the Nikon out for a Bushnell and the gun shot great - really great. I keep finding the older Buckmaster AO scopes at gun shows for cheap. Second.everything is US madeeven the glass. I just found the elastic bands kept catching on all the oak brush while bushwhacking.
