I didnt use the spa services during my trip, but there are many different treatments available starting at around $180 for a 50-minute massage. The ocean, which surrounds the property on three sides, is the focal point for this all-inclusive resort in Cancun, Mexico. Guests staying three or more nights will receive this test at no additional cost, while guests staying one or two nights will have to pay $600 pesos to test (about $29 to $30 USD). As with most properties in the Cancn area, you wont have too long of a drive from the airport. In fact, it is the only spot throughout the resort where youll need to make a reservation to eat. If having a great beach is a must for your beach vacation, its hard to beat the setup at the Hyatt Ziva Cann. All rooms are spacious, modern and bright with free WiFi plus complimentary minibar. If you are in a group including adults without children, they can retreat to the Spa or Turquoize. I didnt eat here during my stay as there were simply too many better options elsewhere on the resort. Now that Hyatt has implementedpeak and off-peak award pricing for stays starting in March 2022, it could cost more (or fewer) points. If you want action, this is where to find it. The card has a $95 annual fee which is not waived for the first year of card membership. Saasil is the main cocktail bar at the resort and is open from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. each day. On my first night, I had the Mexican Affair which had Aperol, Dubonnet, gin, mezcal, and bitters. If youre traveling with kids, the Hyatt Ziva Cancn has a Kidz Club that can be used for children ages 4-12 from 9 am to 9 pm. Both beaches are easily accessible from the hotel. The Hyatt Ziva Cancn is considered a category 2 all-inclusive resort so the base rate when using World of Hyatt points will be 25,000 points. Adding a third person to the room will bring the standard points redemption rate up to 37,500 points per night, while four guests per room will bring the rate up to 50,000 points per night. It was just something I came to accept with all-inclusive stays.
I cannot say enough good things about the service at the Hyatt Ziva Cancn. Because Im a Hyatt Globalist member their top elite status tier I received a complimentary upgrade to an ocean-view club king room, and I was ushered to a private check-in desk which was located in the Club Tower. If your family enjoy spending time on the sand and in the beautiful waters of the Caribbean, this is certainly going to appeal to you. Its a really good place to book if you are trying to keep a lot of different people happy. I also had to check out the cinnamon roll bar, which didnt disappoint. A babysitting service is available at an additional cost. During my stay, there were a few special events at Saasil including an hour-long mezcal and tequila tasting and mixology class.
If you have a sweet tooth, youll want to circle Pasteles on your map of the resort. Families can play volleyball, water polo or tennis during the day, take out a kayak or paddle board or go for a yoga class.
Next up was a Caprese salad with burrata cheese, tomatoes, basil pesto, and a little bit of olive oil. Youll need to be 18 or older to dine here. Open 24/7, the ocean-view fitness center has 14 treadmills and a free-weights area. Dine by the ocean at this relaxed grill by day and steakhouse at night. And if you hold any level of Hyatt elite status, there is also a good chance you will get upgraded to an ocean view room at no cost. Each day of my stay, the Delphinus trainers were putting on a show. It has fantastic oceanfront views, and besides the El Mercado buffet, its the only restaurant that is also open for breakfast.
From the formal, adult-only French dining at Bastilles, to the American diner at Chevys, there is something for everyone. An adults-only area of the hotel. La Bastille is the French restaurant at the resort, and its also the only restaurant in which kids are not allowed. No dress code for this one, all ages welcome. I was immediately greeted by the warm and welcoming staff who took my luggage and escorted me to the check-in area. Each and every employee I interacted with was genuine and warm, and very appreciative of tips that were well deserved. Dont want to take the kids? There is also a private hot tub on the balcony. Hyatt Ziva Cancun markets itself as kid-friendly but there is plenty to do for adults, from activities, food and drink and an exclusively adults-only area of the hotel. Dont book a room at Turquoise Tower if you are bringing kids but do consider this exclusive resort-within-a-resort if you are planning a child-free trip. There are plenty of great indoor and outdoor seating options at El Mercado, and if you want something to eat during your stay, there is a good chance this will be open, outside of a few two-hour windows throughout the day. Whether you are looking for an adults-only getaway or a family-friendly adventure, its hard to beat: both on quality and price. This is also where you will find the beachfront docks and one is set up for massages. And for my main course, I went with a Neopolitan style wood-fired pizza with Italian sausage and mushrooms. These are available as a garden view, resort view, ocean front or ocean view and come with a furnished balcony or terrace. What a view. For a unique stay, check out the Dolphin View Master Double with sofa bed two doubles plus a sofa bed, this room sleeps up to five guests (including up to three kids). In fact, I never struggled to find a spot throughout my stay with ample seating. The Hyatt Zivas sister location, the Hyatt Zilara Cancn is located about a mile south of the Ziva. When it comes to booking your transportation, youll have a few options. Best of all, its a truly excellent use of points and miles to book your all-inclusive stay for free. It was a great place to have a drink and take in the sunset each night during my stay. If you want to get into the water, the beach located just past the pool on the backend of the resort is your best option. Its open each day for breakfast from 7 a.m. to 11:00 am. Each room is equipped with a tablet that has the breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack menus available. Booking a private transfer (or even taking a taxi) is very easy and fairly cheap.

While you might have a not-so-great meal every once in a while, the food is consistently far above average and much better than the food I have had at any other all-inclusive resort. There are even time slots available for families with younger children to enjoy the space. It was a great option for families to grab something quick. In fact, it is the furthest resort from the Cancn (CUN) airport on the main stretch in the hotel zone. After staying at a handful of all-inclusive resorts over the last few years including several other Hyatt Ziva and Zilara locations this one quickly vaulted up the list of my favorites. Hyatt has considered the needs of all its guests, from the youngest with its Kidz Club right through to adults who prefer to avoid them by adding an adults-only enclave right within the resort. Being it is located on the far northeast peninsula of the hotel zone, youll have a few different options for enjoying the beach. The rooms are luxurious, the location beautiful and the AAA five diamond restaurant on site is one of the best in the area. I had breakfast at Tradewinds on my first morning at the property and had a fantastic experience. The main pool is huge and you shouldnt have an issue finding a spot to enjoy. It is also within walking distance of Cancun, giving families the option to explore the town without renting a car or finding a taxi. Everything was delicious. Grand Fiesta is located nearby and also has a beautiful spa. Despite being one of the most luxurious resorts in Cancun, children are welcomed at the Hyatt Ziva and parents can relax in the family-friendly atmosphere. This was easily my favorite pool at the Hyatt Ziva Cancn as it was just a bit quieter, more secluded, and had great access to the incredible beach. Then there is the World of Hyatt Credit Card. And that has been my experience at all of the Hyatt all-inclusive resorts I have visited.
From check-in to check-out and everything in between, I had absolutely no complaints. Dont worry about earning Hyatt points to cover your all-inclusive stay. The service and food were both excellent. Its also the only pool with a swim-up bar, and where the entertainment staff spends the majority of their time. I tried to reserve my spot the morning of the event and it was already full. The water looked to only be about a foot deep, making it a good option for younger kids. The private beach is pristine with calm waters. The Hyatt Ziva Cancn also offers 24-hour complimentary room service. There was also a case full of fancier treats like cupcakes and mini pies. The Zilara is Hyatts adults-only resort in Cancn which can be booked for very similar rates. During my stay, I saw a lot of younger families using this pool. Sadly, I didnt have my phone with me in the pool so I wasnt able to get photos of them. The bathroom was also a little bit on the tight side, but overall very nice and perfectly adequate. Historically, guests at either the Ziva or Zilara will be able to access the other resort. Dessert parlor Pasteles will appeal to kids and adults with a sweet tooth. There is even a great spot to enjoy your drink or work. I havent seen this at other Ziva and Zilara properties, though it might have been a byproduct of my complimentary upgrade to a higher-tier room. But the Ziva Cancn made this pretty easy and painless. 
Activities range from foam parties to turtle release programs, so there is something for everybody. The Hyatt Ziva Cancn is located on the far northeast side of the famous Cancn hotel zone. There was nobody else in the World of Hyatt check-in area when I arrived and it definitely felt a little bit more personal. I visited Saasil twice during my stay for a pre-dinner cocktail and stuck to the complimentary cocktail list both times. Learn to dive, all included in the room rate. While all-you-can-eat is a great perk, some guests have described the quality as good, not exceptional or even lackluster so if an outstanding food experience is important, this may not be the resort for you. Ziva has plenty to do for children and adults alike. Both the service and food were excellent. You can snorkel, scuba dive, get a massage or even take a yoga class all included. Still, its reason enough to justify the annual fee. I spent a few hours each day at the long table to get some work done. These nearby hotels are all in the hotel zone, around 15 minutes from the airport and close to Cancun town. There are three main pools at the Hyatt Ziva Cancn, each one offering something a little different. In my experience, they just do things differently in the best possible way. I opted to save my Hyatt points and paid cash for this trip, at about $476 a night. From the moment you get out of the shuttle and walk into the resort, youll be wowed by the service and impressive open-air lobby. While other Ziva and Zilara resorts I have been to have a sports bar, this is the first one I have seen brewing their own beer. Massages and other treatments are available (not included in the room rate) in addition to a beauty salon. And thankfully, I was negative which was my ticket to get back to the United States.
